Here to register for Esports? Great, you’re in the right place.
Video games may not be a physical sport like soccer or baseball, but they still contain plenty of competition and intensity, so we call them Esports.
Think your child gets too much screen time at home? Have them come share that screen time with friends here at the YMCA. Our Esports space is open to the sweatiest of try-hards, and to those just looking for a casual gaming sesh. Expect to improve your skills, and have a great time.

Casual Fortnite League (PC) Summer 1

Join the YMCA’s Casual Fortnite League, where fun comes first and victory royales are just a bonus! Whether you’re new to the island or a seasoned builder, this league is all about community, friendly competition, and improving your skills in a supportive, judgment-free zone.

More Info: Players are welcome to bring their own controllers or mouse and keyboard (at their own risk), but all equipment is provided in the Esports Lab. Practices will be held at the Janesville YMCA, 2nd floor.

Junior Minecraft - Summer 1
Does your child have an interest in Minecraft? Bring them to your local YMCA and have them explore there creativity in our Esports Lab!
Minecraft is a sandbox game filled with creativity, exploration, and when you play with friends, socializing. In this camp your child will be able to play Java or Bedrock Edition of Minecraft with peers there age. We welcome casual builders, first time players, experienced survivors, and all skill types at this camp.
Kids can use controllers on Bedrock Edition, or mouse and keyboard controls on Java Edition.
Ages: 6-9

Rank Up (Variety Esports Practice) - Summer 2
Welcome to our new Summer Esports program called Rank Up!
Description:
Rank Up is for those whom play an Esport competitively and enjoy the grind of getting better. This program is geared towards middle school to high school students who are interested or already involved in Esports. Our Esports staff aims to create an engaging, respectful, focused, and exciting space for all players.
NEW PLAYERS ARE WELCOME!
Players will meet twice a week for 8 weeks, set goals on improvement, participate in scrimmages, tournaments, and of course increasing their rank in desired games.
Games available to practice and receive coaching for:
- Valorant (premier team potential)
- Rocket League
- Overwatch
- Fortnite
- League of Legends
- Marvel Rivals
- Mario Kart
- Super Smash Bros.
Coaches/Manger:
Rocket League: Zach Herin (Champion level)
Valorant: Bradley Onsgard (Washed Immortal II, and former Collegiate Player)

Summer Crunch Labs Class
CrunchLabs at the YMCA: Think Like an Engineer!
Get ready to ignite your child’s curiosity with our CrunchLabs program at the Janesville YMCA! Inspired by former NASA engineer and YouTube sensation Mark Rober, CrunchLabs offers hands-on STEM experiences that encourage kids to think, build, and innovate like real engineers

In this class we will be assembling a new Crunch Labs project together each week. We will meet in the Esports Lab, build in a conference room with plenty of table space, and then test them in the gymnasium. Participants will get to take home the projects/boxes (completed or not).
Brad Onsgard our Esports Coordinator will be leading the class, and assisting throughout the build.
Class 1: Mondays 4:00pm – 5:30pm
Class 2: Wednesdays 4:00pm – 5:30pm
